Box truck flips

A man was killed in Mission Valley early Thursday morning when the box truck he was driving flipped on Interstate 8 and he was ejected.

The California Highway Patrol reported the crash occurred just before 3 a.m. on the westbound freeway at Hotel Circle North.

The victim, who was said to be in his 30s or 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

All westbound lanes of the freeway were blocked by the CHP during an investigation of the crash.
