Authorities Tuesday identified a 24-year-old woman who was fatally injured when she crashed into a parked box truck in the Paradise Hills area.
Alexys Gillard of San Diego was driving a 2017 Ford Mustang around 1:20 a.m. Saturday at a low speed southbound in the 6400 block of Garber Avenue when she drifted to the right for unknown reasons and struck an unoccupied parked rental box truck, according to San Diego police and the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Bystanders found Gillard unresponsive and called 911, the Medical Examiner’s Office said in a statement.
Gillard, who was the lone occupant of the Ford, was transported to Scripps Mercy Hospital in Hillcrest, where she was pronounced dead at 2:03 a.m., the Medical Examiner’s Office said.
