Police Monday identified a woman whose family members found her dead in an apparent homicide in San Diego’s Fairmont Village neighborhood.
Officers found Marilyn Ruiz Lopez dead from apparent traumatic injuries inside an apartment in the 3600 block of 45th Street after receiving a 911 call “regarding a possible death” about 5:10 p.m. Saturday, San Diego Police homicide Lt. Matt Dobbs said.
“The initial investigation has revealed the victim returned home on June 16, 2018, at approximately 5:45 a.m., after going out with friends,” Dobbs said. “Her body was discovered by family members just after 5 p.m. that night.”
Homicide detectives assigned to the case were “investigating the death as a possible homicide,” Dobbs said. No suspects were identified as of Monday morning.
