A man suspected of exposing himself to a 13-year-old girl and a woman on South Bay roadsides over a half-hour period Thursday morning was arrested a short time later at the site of the second alleged lewd act.

The teenager was walking to Chula Vista Middle School when she saw a man fondling himself in a car parked near the campus shortly before 8 a.m., according to Chula Vista Police.

“An alert staff member was able to locate the car near the intersection of Fifth Avenue and Otis Street and gave a good description of (it) before (the driver) fled prior to police arrival,” Capt. Lon Turner said.

About 30 minutes later, a woman reported seeing a man exposing himself from inside a vehicle parked in the 800 block of Marina Parkway, about a mile southwest of the school.

“Police quickly located the parked car … and determined it was the same vehicle as the (one involved in the) previous incident,” the captain said.

Officers arrested the driver on suspicion of indecent exposure and took him to Chula Vista Police headquarters for questioning. The suspect’s name was not immediately available.
