San Diego police Friday sought the public’s help in identifying a man who robbed a City Heights smoke shop at gunpoint.
It happened at the Euclid Smoke Shop at 4268 Euclid Ave. about 8:30 p.m. Nov. 14, according to police.
The robber asked a clerk for a pack of cigarettes, then pulled a handgun from his waistband while the clerk’s back was turned. Police said when the clerk turned back around, the robber demanded money from the cash register and a safe that was located behind the sales counter.
The clerk complied and the robber walked out of the business and headed south on Euclid Avenue, according to police, who describe him as black, 6 feet tall, about 250 pounds, last seen wearing a red baseball cap, red shoes, blue jeans with a large shiny belt buckle and a black long-sleeved shirt.

Tipsters can choose to remain anonymous.
Crime Stoppers offers rewards of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest.
