A man and an armed woman robbed an Otay Mesa market this afternoon, police said.

The two entered the Rainbow Mart in the 2300 block of Roll Drive at 1:22 p.m. and selected some merchandise, before walking to the checkout stand.

That’s when the woman took out a handgun and demanded cash, San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros  said. He did not disclose the amount of money taken in the robbery.

The investigation indicated that the two drove away in a dark-colored Toyota Corolla.

Witnesses described the woman as 5-feet-6 inches tall with a thin build, wearing a gray tank top and blue leggings. They described man as having a tattoo of a rose on his left arm, while wearing a gray shirt and gray shorts.

They were estimated to be in their 30s.
