Firefighters are making progress in extinguishing a brush fire, which has blackened about 10 open acres just north of the U.S.-Mexico border, according to Cal Fire.

Firefighters have contained the spread of a roughly 10-acre brush fire just north of the U.S.-Mexico border, according to Cal Fire.

The blaze did not threaten any homes, businesses or other buildings while spreading through parts of Tin Can Canyon, east of Otay Mesa Port of Entry, state agents said.
