City officials are warning concert-goers that Friday’s Marc Anthony concert at Sleep Train Amphitheatre will clog roads leading to the venue.
For popular shows, heavy traffic accumulates near the venue on southbound Interstate 805 and on Main Street. In addition, traffic is likely to be heavier because of Labor Day weekend getaways.
In the past, officials have advised motorists to take these alternate routes to access Main near the theater:
- use the toll road, the South Bay Expressway, and exit on Otay Mesa Road,
- take Interstate 5 south to state Route 905 east, to I-805 north, exiting Main Street.
Anthony, a salsa star who has recorded in English and Spanish, will perform at 8 p.m. as part of his “Cambio de Piel” tour.
Tickets remain available; admission starts at $45 and ranges up to $300.
