San Diego County may see an early Christmas present as far as weather is concerned.
Temperatures are forecast to be 10-15 degrees above average by midweek across much of the region as a weak Santa Ana pattern sets in, according to the National Weather Service.
The warmer weather is being preceded by a storm system moving across Northern California that will reach San Diego Monday and bring just a slight chance of light showers along the west side of the local mountains. Cool and cloudy conditions are forecast for Monday and Tuesday, with high surf along the coast, according to the NWS.
But a strong pressure ridge will build behind the storm system, bringing daytime-high temperatures in the mid 70s Wednesday through Friday, with even warmer temperatures inland, according to the forecast.
