The National Weather Service office in San Diego has issued a hazardous surf advisory for Monday and Tuesday next week.
A large, long-period northwest swell from 290 degrees will move into the coastal waters early Monday. This will create high surf and strong rip currents through Tuesday evening.
Waves from 6 to 10 feet are expected throughout the area, with higher sets possible.
The weather service warned sneaker waves and rip currents could create life-threatening conditions in the surf zone.
