Authorities Monday publicly identified a 25-year-old man who was fatally shot over the weekend at a Mountain View-area park.
Patrol officers responding to a report of gunfire near Greenwood Memorial Park shortly before 3:30 a.m. Saturday found Jesus Alexis Arellano of San Diego mortally wounded on a driveway at Willie Henderson Sports Complex on South 45th Street, according to police.
Paramedics tried in vain to revive Arellano before pronouncing him dead about 4 a.m., Lt. Matt Dobbs said.
Homicide detectives were looking for two men in dark clothing who were seen leaving the area in a white Volkswagen following the gunshots.
“Their involvement in the shooting is not known at this time,” Dobbs said Monday morning. “No suspects have been identified at this time.”
Police have disclosed no suspected motive for the slaying.
