The Goodwill store in Lemon Grove had to be evacuated Saturday after authorities received a report of a grenade being found.
Dispatchers were told around 10:30 a.m. that someone found a possibly-functional grenade at the Goodwill on Broadway near Lemon Grove Avenue, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
The Bomb and Arson Unit went to the store to investigate.
A sheriff’s department spokesman said he couldn’t confirm if the grenade was determined to be live or not, but said investigators had cleared the scene and the store was safe to enter.
NBC San Diego reported the item was a non-explosive practice grenade.
