The 1980s are back in a big way. New Kids on the Block, the super boyband of the late 80s and early 90s is teaming up with teen idols of the era, Salt-N-Pepa, Tiffany, Debbie Gibson and Naughty by Nature, for a 53-city tour.
This is the first time these iconic pop and hip-hop acts are touring together. They will be in San Diego on May 23, 2019, at Viejas Arena.
To promote the aptly named “MixTape Tour,” NKOTB released a throwback song, “80s Baby” featuring all their touring partners. The track is a nostalgic ride with lots of 80s song references. The group says it’s a small glimpse of what the tour will like.
The announcement came at the heel of NKOTB’s sold-out Apollo Theater show celebrating the 30th anniversary of their breakout album “Hangin’ Tough.”
Tickets range from $59 to $99 and go on sale 10 a.m. Friday at Ticketmaster, though NKOTB fan club, Block Nation, members can access the sale three days earlier.
