A brush fire burning on Camp Pendleton Friday afternoon poses no threat to local communities, according to base officials.
The fire was reported shortly before 4 p.m. and is well within the Zulu Impact Area of the base, officials said.
Heavy smoke was visible throughout Camp Pendleton, as well Fallbrook and Southwest Riverside County.
Officials have not said what caused the fire, how much acreage has burned, or when full containment is expected.
There are no reports of structure damage.
