A man struck by a San Diego Police Department cruiser Monday evening has died, authorities said.
The crash took place at 8 p.m. at the intersection of 47th Street and Imperial Avenue, near Lincoln High School, police said.
A marked SDPD vehicle was heading south on South 47th Street when a man ran out from a field on the west side of the street and the cruiser hit the victim, CBS8 reported.
The victim, who was in 60s, was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died, police said. His name will be withheld pending notification of next of kin.
