The National Weather Service office in San Diego issued a flash flood watch for Thursday afternoon in the east county mountains.
“The weather pattern remains conducive for heavy showers and thunderstorms this afternoon/evening over the mountains and deserts of San Diego, Riverside, and San Bernardino Counties,” the weather service said.
The worst of the storms could produce up to 1 inch of rain per hour, according to the forecast.
The flash flood watch is in effect from noon until 8 p.m.
