Much in America’s consumer culture is easily disposable, but not our American flag.
Orchard Supply Hardware in San Diego has partnered with the American Legion to help people respectfully dispose of old, torn flags during the July 4 holiday period.
American Legion members will retire a flag on the spot by ceremoniously folding it and later burning it at a safe location offsite.
The company is offering the flag disposal along with a $10 store credit through through July 8 at its branch on Navajo Road.
