A classical music event that literally brings the world together is returning to Encinitas for the seventh year, it was announced Thursday.
The iPalpati Festival showcases a 25-member ensemble of musicians from around the globe who will perform at various locations across the city next month:
On July 5 at 7:30 p.m., the full iPalpati Orchestra–conducted by Eduard Schmieder–will perform at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 890 Balour Drive. The concert will feature Bach’s Chaconne for String Orchestra, Tchaikovsky’s Variations on a Rococo Theme for cello and orchestra, featuring soloist Eldar Saparayev (from Kazakhstan-Switzerland), and Dvořák’s Serenade for Strings.
On July 12, 13 and 14 at 7:30 p.m., and July 15 at 12:00 p.m., seven award-winning iPalpiti soloists will perform four different concerts at the Encinitas Library, 540 Cornish Drive. Davide de Ascaniis (Italy, violin), Irakli Tsadaia (Georgia-Germany, violin), Emma Werning (Germany-USA, viola), Egor Antonenko (Russia, cello), Sam Shuhan (USA, double bass), Sara de Ascaniis (Italy, piano), and So-Mang Jeagal (Korea, piano), will perform virtuosic works by great composers for solo, duo, trio, quartet and quintet.
Tickets are $30 for the orchestra concert and $20 for each solo concert. Four-concert festival passes are available for $75; five-concert passes are $105. Tickets can be purchased online at www.ipalpiti.org or www.encinitas.tix.com, or at the door.
