The National Weather Service said Thursday it expects unseasonably hot weather in the San Diego deserts on Sunday and Monday, with highs near 110 degrees in Borrego Springs.

“Today’s cooler than average weather will transition to a brief period of early season heat over the lower deserts Sunday and Monday as weak high pressure builds aloft,” the weather service office in San Diego said in a statement.

An excessive heat watch will be in effect from Sunday morning through Monday evening.

The weather service advised residents to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms and check on relatives and neighbors.
