Strong winds are expected across San Diego County mountains and deserts through early Friday, with isolated gusts topping 60 mph in some areas.
A high wind warning issued by the National Weather Service Thursday afternoon remains in effect through 2 a.m. Friday for San Diego County and Riverside County mountains, as well as San Diego County deserts, the Coachella Valley, and the San Gorgonio Pass near Banning.
Southwest to west winds will blow at 20 to 30 mph with gusts of 35 to 50 mph; isolated gusts up to 60 mph are expected along desert slopes, the NWS reported.
Roadway visibility, especially in deserts areas, will be reduced to 1 mile or less due to blowing dust and sand, according to the NWS.
Due to high wind conditions, drivers of high-profile vehicles are urged to take additional caution.
