A woman who shot three people at the Northern California headquarters of YouTube Tuesday before dying of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound traveled to the scene of the rampage from San Diego.
The suspect drove to the San Bruno offices of the online video company from San Diego Tuesday morning before opening fire as employees were taking their lunch breaks, KRON4 reported, citing an unnamed source.
She was identified as Nasim Najafi Aghdam, 39, of San Diego, law enforcement officials confirmed Tuesday evening.
Her address of residence was not specified.
Her motivation behind the violence is still under investigation but early reports indicate it may have stemmed from a domestic dispute. Also, according to several reports, she was a YouTube user who was disgruntled with the company’s alleged “filtering” of her video content.
Officers searching the grounds of the complex for the assailant and victims found the body of the suspect, who apparently had turned her pistol on herself, officials told reporters.
The shooting left a man in critical condition and two women hospitalized with less serious wounds.
All three victims were transported to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital.
Hospital spokesman Brent Andrew said at a news conference that a 36-year-old man was in critical condition, a 32-year-old woman in serious condition and a 27-year-old woman in fair condition.
