A wave three winter storms will hit San Diego through the end of the week, dropping light rain along the coast and snow in the mountains.

The National Weather Service office in San Diego said the storm systems would move through the region Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, Thursday and finally Saturday.

“The forecast remains on track with a series of Pacific Storms bringing widespread but mainly light precipitation,” the weather service said Tuesday.

San Diego is expected to get a total of a quarter to a half of an inch during the period — enough to make commuting difficult.
