Investigators were searching Sunday night for a female who allegedly stabbed her boyfriend in the neck during an argument over privacy, a Chula Vista police sergeant said.

Police began receiving calls around 5:30 p.m. about a couple, with a child, fighting at the intersection of 5th Avenue and Palomar Street in Chula Vista, according to Sgt. Fred Rowbotham.

The squabble, allegedly over “personal privacy,” escalated and the female stabbed her boyfriend in the neck, he said.

She fled the scene with the young child in tow, and police were tracking her, Rowbotham continued.

The boyfriend was transported to a local hospital with a single, non life-threatening stab wound, according to the sergeant.

There was no indication that the child was physically harmed during the argument.

The suspected stabber’s name and age were not released; the victim’s identity was also withheld.
