A pedestrian was struck and seriously injured by a pickup truck on a South Bay street Thursday afternoon.
The unidentified man was walking to the west in a traffic lane in the 1500 block of Palm Avenue in Egger Highlands when the westbound Ford F-150 hit him shortly before 1:30 p.m., according to San Diego police.
Medics took the victim to a hospital for treatment of severe head trauma and broken bones in both arms and legs, Officer Tony Martinez said.
