Friends of Balboa Park and San Diego Parks & Recreation are gearing up for the annual poinsettia display in the historic Botanical Building in the park.
The free display opens on the first weekend in December and runs through the first week in January.
“Balboa Park is one of San Diego’s top destinations during the holiday months, and the poinsettia display is a special and time-honored San Diego tradition that we are happy to facilitate for the community to help celebrate the season,” said Friends of Balboa Park Executive Director John Bolthouse.
Plant lovers can dedicate a poinsettia in the name of a friend or family member for $25, which is tax deductible. A donation comes with acknowledgement of the donor and honoree, and an invitation to the Poinsettia Celebration on Dec. 7.
Dedications will be accepted online through Dec. 1.
