An investigation was underway Tuesday into the death of an 11-month-old girl who fell from the window of a third-story apartment in Chula Vista.
The baby fell from a bedroom window in the apartment at 1251 Santa Cora Avenue around 6:40 p.m. Monday, said Chula Vista Police Lt. Buddy Maygor.
Officers found her unresponsive and attempted to revive her. She was airlifted to Rady Children’s Hospital, where she later died, police said.
Both of the child’s parents were home, and preliminary investigations suggested the fall was accidental, Maygor said.
Family Protection Unit detectives were sent to investigate, police said.
