A small brush fire in Vista prompted a lane closure on state Route 78 Sunday.
The blaze was reported about 3 p.m., between Route 78 and homes in the 800 block of Phillips Street in Vista.
As a result of the fire, the California Highway Patrol shut down the right lane of westbound Route 78.
Two fire engines responded to the blaze, and no evacuation orders were issued, according to Lt. Brian Nevins of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department.
