It’s the month of ghosts, goblins and pumpkin patches. From the East County to North County, San Diego is packed with Halloween events for all ages.
Here is your Halloween Guide for 2017:
BOOmont Park
What better way to celebrate Halloween than right on the beach. Belmont Park is transforming into BOOmont Park for the month of October. BOOmont Park’s frighteningly-fun weekends include free trick-or-treating from 6:30-7:30 p.m. every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Attractions include a zombie laser tag where creatures will join you in this three-floor adventure, superhero zip line and rock wall, and a pumpkin patch station with an option to purchase pumpkins to paint.
Trick-or-Treat on India Street
The 11th annual Trick-or-Treat on India Street in Little Italy will take place on Friday, Oct. 27 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The night will kick-off at Piazza Basilone with music, Halloween festivities and candy for trick-or-treaters. Children can then go to businesses on the street for treats.
Bates Nut Farm
For decades, Bates Nut Farm in Valley Center has attracted San Diegans of all ages for their annual pumpkin patch. The The festive event that runs through the end of October includes pony rides, hay rides, tractor rides, a petting corral and a large pumpkin patch. Guests can also expect live entertainment and food from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. Best of all, dogs are also welcomed!
Oma’s Pumpkin Patch
East County residents can find Halloween fun at Oma’s Pumpkin Patch in Lakeside. Guests can expect plenty of activities for the children include hay rides, a hay bale maze, a petting corral and slides. The patch is open Tuesdays through Saturdays until Oct. 31.
Halloween at Balboa Park
Balboa Park will host a free Halloween Family Day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28. The event will include more than 20 museums with free attractions, mini-carnival games and costume contests. Guests can also expect food trucks.
SeaWorld Spooktacular
The home of Shamu is turning into a Halloween park for the month of October. Guests are encouraged to wear costumes to trick-or-treat throughout the park. Plus, you’ll get to enjoy special Halloween shows including Clyde & Seamore’s Halloween Bash and Sesame Street’s Who Said Boo?! The Spooktacular event is topped off with dance parties and singing pumpkins.
Brick-or-Treat
Every Saturday through the month of October, Legoland will host Brick-or-Treat Party Nights. The event includes live entertainment, costume contests, dance parties and of course, candy.
Truck-or-Treat in Rancho Bernardo
The Existence Church in Rancho Bernardo invites all San Diegans to its Trunk-or-Treat and Chili Cook-off. The event takes place from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28. The event includes more than 30 trunks for trick-or-treating, bounce houses, games and of course, the chili cook-off. Costumes (without masks) are encouraged! Spooky Events
Looking for something a little more spooky? San Diego has you covered for that too. There’s the Scream Zone at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, Haunted Trail at Balboa Park and the ever-so-scary Haunted Hotel in downtown San Diego.
Halloween Glow Run
Interested in running a race in costume? Chula Vista has you covered. The city will host a 5K in Rohr Park at 6 p.m. on Oct. 27. Guests are encouraged to wear costumes and will receive glow sticks! Registration is $20 per person.
