U.S. Forest Service firefighters made quick work of a five-acre brush fire caused by a motorcycle crash near Lake Henshaw on Saturday afternoon.

The fire was reported shortly after 1 p.m. near mile marker three on East Grade Road in the Cleveland National Forest, according to a tweet.

The U.S Forest Service said the so-called “East Fire” was moving at a slow rate of speed with no structures threatened and “aircraft and ground resources making good progress.”

Later officials tweeted that aircraft were being released from the fire and ground crews were in the mopping-up stage.

The motorcycle rider was injured, but the extent of his injuries was not immediately available.
