Societe Brewing Company in Kearny Mesa caused a stir in the local brewing industry last weekend by releasing five new beers on its fifth anniversary.

The craft brewer has typically released that many over a year’s time, but chose a mass introduction at its tasting room at 8262 Clairemont Mesa Boulevard.

“We threw a two-part festival and beer-feast this Saturday to celebrate our five-year anniversary, and we wanted to reward the 400-plus attendees with tons of new beers,” said Brandon Hernandez, chief marketing officer. “It really comes down to our brewing team enjoying blowing fans away.”

The five new beers are:

  • The Fiddler San Diego-style IPA
  • The Statesman pale ale
  • The Bachelor with Cashmere single-hop IPA
  • The Damsel Belgian-style table beer
  • The Thief feral beer with locally grown Grenache blanc grapes

The Fiddler, Statesman, Bachelorette with Cashmere and Damsel are available exclusively on draft, while the Thief is also on sale in corked, caged, 500-milliliter bottles.

Societe is a production brewery founded by Travis Smith and Douglas Constantiner in 2012.
