Two transients arguing over belongings in a shopping cart got into a physical confrontation Monday in Kearny Mesa that ended with one man stabbing the other, according to police.

Officers were called about 9:30 a.m. to the area behind the Food for Less store in the 4900 block of Shawline Street, according to San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros.

He said the 45-year-old suspect stabbed the 57-year-old victim twice in the arm with a knife. Neither man was immediately identified.

The suspect was arrested and the victim was hospitalized, Delimitros said.
