San Diego State football won their second Mountain West Championship in a row Saturday, defeating the University of Wyoming 27-24.

By the end of the first half, both teams were locking horns at 10-10. SDSU would take the lead and more in the third quarter though on two touchdowns and led 24-10.

The Cowboys weren’t about to go down that easily though, and scored two touchdowns of their own in the fourth. An Aztec field goal kept SDSU on top though, and the game would end 27-24.

Rashad Penny led the way, running for 117 yards on just 16 carries with two touchdowns. Donnel Pumphrey now trails Ron Dayne for the all-time rushing yards leader in the FBS after running for 110 yards and a touchdown of his own.

The Aztecs now expect to head to the Las Vegas Bowl, where they’re most likely to face the University of Houston on Dec. 17th.
