Susan G. Komen San Diego‘s 20th annual Race for the Cure, a 5K and 1 mile walk/run to raise money for breast cancer research, is coming to Balboa Park on Sunday.
Proceeds from the event will also fund free breast cancer services and support in San Diego, such as Komen San Diego’s mobile mammogram vehicle.
“The Race for the Cure is an inspirational and impactful way for San Diegans to band together to fight breast cancer,” said Laura Farmer Sherman, president and CEO of Komen San Diego. “The Race is our largest fundraiser of the year providing critical funding for women who are in need of life-saving services that they may not otherwise be able to afford.”
The race begins at 8 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6, at 6th Avenue and Palm Street. Registration is available at komensandiego.org/race.
