Around 15,000 costumed revelers are expected to jam in the Gaslamp Quarter in downtown San Diego Saturday night for the 16th annual Monster Bash Halloween party.

The event that begins at 6 p.m. will include more than 20 entertainment acts on five themed stages, and 25 participating restaurants and bars, spanning eight city blocks.

The Monster Bash will also offer a costume contest in which the winner will receive a $5,000 cash prize. Ticket prices are $60, or $120 for VIP extras. The Metropolitan Transit System announced that it will run late-night trains from the venue on all three lines:

— Orange Line, last eastbound departure from Park and Market station will be at 12:31 a.m.

— Blue Line, last southbound departure from Park and Market station will be at 12:38 a.m.

— Green Line, last northbound/eastbound departures from the Gaslamp Quarter station will be at 12:23 a.m. and 12:38 a.m.

The last two Green Line trains will not run farther east than San Diego State University, the MTS said.
