A marijuana dispensary in Fallbrook that officials say is too close to a church was raided Thursday.
Fallbrook Crime Suppression Team deputies and detectives served a search warrant at Golden State CBD located at 616 East Alvarado St.
Money, computer equipment, several pounds of bulk marijuana, and THC-related products were among the items confiscated, according to a San Diego County Sheriff’s Department news release.
Two Golden State CBD employees were detained during the raid but were later released at the scene.
The sheriff’s department states that because the dispensary is located within 600 feet of a church, Golden State CBD is in violation of dispensary related rules as regulated by the county.
“As with the State of California, the County of San Diego has specific guidelines with regard to the distance a marijuana related storefront must be from certain public places such as, schools, churches, playgrounds, etc.,” the news release read.
In May 2015, Golden State CBD was served with a cease and desist order by the sheriff’s licensing division, according to the news release.
“However, the dispensary chose to ignore the order and continued distributing marijuana products,” the release continued.
In recent weeks, the Fallbrook Crime Suppression Team stopped people leaving Golden State CBD.
“During nearly every contact, marijuana or marijuana products were found on the person who had just left the dispensary,” according to the release.
The investigation is ongoing.
