Two former San Diego State University students were named Friday as umpires for Tuesday’s All-Star Game at Petco Park.

Mike Winters, an Oceanside native who graduated from SDSU, will act as the crew chief and call balls and strikes. Winters, in his 27th season, will work his fourth All-Star Game, according to Major League Baseball.

Kerwin Danley, a teammate of Tony Gwynn’s on the Aztecs baseball team, will umpire at first base. The 20-year veteran will ump his second All-Star Game.

MLB announced that the other umpires will be Marty Foster at second base, Bill Welke at third base, and Adrian Johnson and Dan Bellino along the right and left field foul lines. Sam Holbrook will man the replay booth.

Baseball officials also announced that National League manager Terry Collins replaced San Francisco Giants pitcher Madison Bumgarner on his roster with hurler Bartolo Colon of the New York Mets.

Bumgarner is scheduled to start for the Giants on Sunday, making him unavailable two days later. Colon, a three-time All-Star, already made a splash at Petco Park this season by slugging the first home run of his career at age 42 — the oldest big leaguer to collect his first round-tripper.
