A North Park man was behind bars Friday on suspicion of mailing violent threats to three targets, including two in East County, a high school and a private home.
Deputies from the San Diego Sheriff’s Bomb/Arson Unit arrested the 37-year-old man after serving a search warrant at his residence in the 3100 block of Landis Street on Thursday evening, according to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives from the Rancho San Diego Sheriff’s substation also obtained a gun violence restraining order prohibiting the man from possessing firearms, Sgt. Matthew Moser said.
The suspect allegedly issued threats to Valhalla High School and a home in El Cajon. The other target was a Chase Bank branch office in San Diego.
Officials did not offer specifics of the alleged threats, but one of the charges the suspect is facing cites death threats or threats of great bodily harm at a school.
Authorities booked the North Park man into San Diego Central Jail on multiple counts of issuing criminal threats. He was being held without bail pending arraignment, scheduled for Tuesday afternoon.
