Hello, Uptown!
Who says Oktoberfest has to be in October? Well actually me, I think I would agree with that assertion. Luckily we’re talking Putt-oberfest today.
Next Thursday, Sept. 17 from 4 to 8 p.m. fans of the revered artform putt-putt AKA mini-golf can combine their love of the game with their refined taste buds. The slight motion of rotating your upper torso and walk between each location makes up for the additional calories you might catch along the way.
If you haven’t caught on now, this is basically a food and bar crawl throughout North Park with mini golf holes along the way to up the entertainment.
I am not necessarily a fan of mini-golf. I know, I know, calm down. I need a bit more excitement than a slowly spinning miniature windmill. The prospect of a slice from Little Sister’s Pizza along the way, though, makes this all the more enticing.
This event can either be fun for the whole family skipping over the 21+ locations — there are 12 out of the 22 spots participating in the event — or an activity to rally the friend group out of the living room.
Some other names you might recognize along the way: Coin Op Game Room, Lou’s Deli, Jeni’s Ice Cream, One of Us and Working Class.
At each stop you can expect drink and food specials under $5 along with themed mini-golf challenges. On par with the true nature of the game, there will be 18 holes set up along the crawl.
The early-bird sales period has passed, so the general admission tickets available go for $35 a person. Want to bring the kids along? You can grab an all ages pass — good for four family members — at $40.
