Hello, Downtown!

Prepare to Feast.

To celebrate what the Busalacchi family has done best for 40 years, the inaugural serving of The Feast will shut down Little Italy’s main drag for one evening. India Street will become a communal, open-air dining experience commemorating the culinary contributions of the family.

The first-ever Feast will take place Sunday, Oct. 11, from 5 to 10 p.m. India Street from Fir to Grape streets will be shut down for the extravaganza.

The hope is that it becomes an annual affair.

“As we looked toward the future, we wanted to create something that would become a lasting tradition for Little Italy,” Barbusa General Manager Peter “PJ” Busalacchi said. “The Feast is an opportunity to celebrate not only our family’s history, but the community that has supported us every step of the way.”

PJ is the son of founder Joe Busalacchi Sr. Family-owned restaurants in Little Italy currently include Barbusa, Lala, Nonna and Cafe Zuccero.

Since 1984, the history of Busalacchi restaurants in San Diego includes 14 eateries. The family presence in Little Italy spans 30 years.

The Feast will aim to create a family-style dining experience. Guests will be seated at long tables and served curated food and beverages. There will also be grazing stations, photo opportunities and live music.

Early reservation pricing for three ticket experiences will be available until September 1, after that prices will go up. Tiers include General Admission ($295), VIP ($395) and Founder’s Table ($3,250).

Portions of proceeds will go to The Positive Movement Foundation, a local nonprofit that supports at-risk children.
