Hello, Pacific and Mission Beach!
One of my favorite summer traditions is going to outdoor concerts. San Diego is a hot spot for popular tours, but did you know that hip-hop, pop and R&B icons are headlining the SeaWorld Summer Concert series right in our backyard?
Artists like the Ying Yang Twins, E-40, Ashanti and Too $hort are taking the stage at SeaWorld’s Summer Spectacular, held at the open-air Bayside Amphitheater on the edge of Mission Bay. Many of the featured artists are part of a nationwide series, performing at SeaWorld locations around the country throughout the summer.
Upcoming shows include Bow Wow & Dem Franchize Boyz on June 20, and Pop 2000 Tour hosted by boy band favorites like Chris Kirkpatrick and Ryan Cabrera on June 27. Check out the full summer lineup on SeaWorld’s website.
Concerts are included with the price of admission to the park. Shows happen on Saturdays at 6 p.m. through August 29.
As a person raised on 90’s and 2000’s hip hop, this lineup is a dream. Word on the street is you may be able to hear the concerts for free from spots along Mission Bay…but you didn’t hear that from me. Whether you’re heading in for the full park experience or just catching the vibes from the bay, summer concerts are a great excuse to get outside.
