Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders is scheduled to speak at a rally in National City on Saturday, hours after former President Bill Clinton campaigns on behalf of his wife Hillary Clinton at Bonita Vista High School in Chula Vista.
The Sanders rally will be held at Kimball Park with doors opening at 4 p.m. and the program beginning around 7:30 p.m., according to an official with his campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination.
Sanders will discuss his customary topics — getting big money out of politics, his plan to make public colleges and universities tuition-free, combating climate change and ensuring universal health care, the campaign official said.

Due to security concerns, attendees should not bring bags, and carry only small personal items, such as keys and cellphones. Weapons, sharp objects, chairs, signs, banners and sticks will not be permitted.
The National City Police Department said A and D avenues, and East 12th and East 15th streets, will be closed around the park about two hours before the event. Because parking will be limited, attendees are urged to carpool or use public transportation, police said.
Sanders is also scheduled to speak in Vista on Sunday.
Bill Clinton will discuss why his wife, a former secretary of state, is the “best candidate to raise wages and break down all the barriers holding families back,” a campaign official said.
What is billed by the campaign as an organizing event is set to begin at 11:30 a.m.
Bill Clinton is also scheduled to attend a private fundraiser in Rancho Santa Fe.
Both rallies are free and open to the public. Admission will be first come, first served.
An estimated 12,000 people attended a Sanders rally at the San Diego Convention Center in March.
Presumptive Republican nominee Donald J. Trump is scheduled to hold a rally at the San Diego Convention Center on Friday.
