Five dead — three victims and two suspects — in Islamic Center of San Diego shooting, police say
Three people were killed at the center, police said, including a security guard. Two teens suspected in the shooting were found dead nearby, police said, bringing the death toll to five.
Police Chief Scott Wahl said the three victims were adult males, and said the security guard with keeping the attack from growing worse.
Reports of an active shooting began just after noon at the Clairemont area center, which is home to the county’s largest mosque as well as a K-12 school. Police reported all students and staff at the school were safe.
FBI agent Mark Remily said, “We are considering this a hate crime until it’s not.”
