Hello, Point Loma and Ocean Beach!

Here are a few things to look out for around Ocean Beach this weekend.

First, Half Hour Late is playing at Winston’s on April 25. They’re local to OB, which means the show will be a wild time. Their music is pretty laid-back and would soundtrack a beach day at the cliffs quite well. However, it does have some danceability laced in it. On top of that, I’ve heard their live shows are a lot of fun.

The OB Makers Market is this Saturday at the OB Surf Lodge from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The market features 20 local makers and artists selling anything from jewelry to cross-stitch signs. And if you need to do some Mother’s Day shopping, the Makers Market is the place to do it.

On a similar note, The Mother’s Day Gift Preview Pop-Up is this Sunday at Jensen’s Foods from 1 to 5 p.m. It’s another market where local vendors and artists sell their crafts. This one is especially for Mother’s Day gift shopping, so get out there and buy a gift for your mom if you haven’t already.

The weather this next week will continue to be pleasant. After that streak of heat in March, it seems like most of San Diego is finally cooling down again. Here in Ocean Beach, there might be some marine layer troubles over the weekend, but the temperature is expected to stay in the high 60s.

Other than that, it’s a pretty quiet week around OB and Point Loma. So maybe check out a Padres game next week — they’re hosting both the Chicago White Sox and the Chicago Cubs Monday through Sunday. If you haven’t been paying attention, the Pads have been on a hot streak. Now is the time to see them, considering how inconsistent San Diego sports can be.
