A motorcyclist was killed Friday afternoon in a freeway collision near Batiquitos Lagoon.
The fatal accident occurred about 3:45 p.m. on southbound Interstate 5, just south of Poinsettia Lane in Carlsbad, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The victim tumbled into foliage on the right-hand side of the roadway and died at the scene, the CHP reported. The motorcyclist’s name was not immediately available.
