A Navy sailor was injured aboard USS Abraham Lincoln while the aircraft carrier was conducting flight operations in the Arabian Sea, the Pentagon reported.
Central Command said the injury sustained on Tuesday was not combat related or life threatening.
The sailor was flown ashore for additional medical care and is in stable condition. The Navy said the circumstances of the incident are under investigation.
The carrier is conducting strike missions against Iran in support of Operation Epic Fury.
Aboard the nuclear-powered warship are three squadrons of Navy F-18s from Naval Air Station Lemoore near Fresno and one squadron of Marine Corps F-35C stealth fighters from Miramar.
