90% of high schools across San Diego County reported cases of sex trafficking during a 2023 study. 

Child sex trafficking is a multi-faceted global issue, and San Diego is a hub for it as the FBI ranks our city the 13th highest-intensity trafficking area in the country. That’s why San Diego Unified is ramping up its efforts to help prevent students from trafficking.

One of the most essential tools to prevent human trafficking is education.

So SD Unified has partnered up with San Diego Youth Services to help offer an array of services like mental health counseling, advocacy, case management and educational programs to provide the tools and agency for students to navigate a situation where they might fall into trafficking.
