A mild earthquake was recorded Wednesday underneath the ocean west of Pacific Beach.
The 2.8-magnitude temblor hit at 12:31 p.m., centered about two miles offshore, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The quake was estimated to have occurred approximately five miles deep.
No damage or injuries were initially reported.
