Hello, Uptown!

Spring serves as an excuse to turn our closets inside out and sort through every piece of clothing we own to decide whether or not it still represents the person we’re becoming this year. Between North Park and Hillcrest, consider the following businesses that offer the opportunity to donate and sell items, all while supporting our community.

Day To Day Vintage Market | North Park

Every third Saturday of the month, Day To Day Vintage hosts its open air market that features over 60 local vendors, attracting the most fashionable locals from all over town to fawn over hundreds of unique pieces. These include Coach bags, Burberry scarfs and leather cowgirl boots lining North Park Way.

Buffalo Exchange | Hillcrest

A staple when it comes to second hand shopping, Buffalo Exchange encourages its customers to trade in their clothes to receive store credit or cash in an effort to fight against the environmental impact of fast fashion. With every purchase customers can select one of the following organizations to donate to: The LGBTQ Community Center, San Diego Coast Keeper or the San Diego Chihuahua Rescue.

Out of The Closet | Hillcrest

Operated by the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, this nonprofit is currently accepting clothes, furniture, books and miscellaneous items  to re-sell.With every purchase, their website says that 96 cents of each dollar goes straight to HIV care. Out Of The Closet is a neighborhood jewel recognized for its affordable yet high quality items that contributes to meaningful change.

Happy shopping!
