PACIFIC BEACH – Representatives of the Mission Beach Real Estate Association presented a check for $27,019 for the four elementary schools in Pacific Beach.

They are PB Elementary, Sessions Elementary, Crown Point Junior Music Academy and Barnard Mandarin Magnet Elementary School.

The donation was backed by proceeds from the association’s annual Don Brown Links For Learning Golf Tournament. The 24th annual tournament was held at the La Valle Coastal Club in Rancho Santa Fe. The check was presented Dec. 9.

This tournament was started in 2000 by Don Brown, an integral member of the association, a longtime resident of Pacific Beach and father of three.

Brown, who died in 2017, was dedicated to giving back to the community. His spirit of giving and generosity lives on with this annual event, which has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to Pacific Beach schools over the past 24 years.
