A shy Grace Taylor, 5, clutched her mother’s side after President Obama’s departure from Miramar and told what the leader of the free world said to her.
“You’re a pretty girl,” Grace recalls him saying. She shook his hand, too.
Mayor Kevin Faulconer says Obama shared his appreciation for the great San Diego day during his own brief chat with the president.
Faulconer had something in common with Grace: They were both meeting Obama for the first time.
Grace’s mother was a teacher who had the day off.
How did she get in?
“We’re friends of a Secret Service agent,” she said.
